Message From The Principal

Welcome to our school community!

It is incredibly meaningful to return to St. HOPE Public Schools as a principal. I am a proud St. HOPE and Sacramento Charter High School alum and a first-generation college student who went on to graduate from Stanford University. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving as a teacher, interventionist, dean, and school leader across different communities and regions of the country, always with a focus on creating schools where all scholars can thrive.

My belief in St. HOPE’s mission and vision is different because I have experienced it firsthand. This community invested in me as a scholar, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to now invest in the next generation of scholars.

As a principal, I want to create a school where every scholar feels known, valued, challenged, and deeply cared for. A school where we hold high expectations, cultivate intentional joy, and believe wholeheartedly in what our scholars can become. As adults, we will take ownership for creating the experience and opportunities our scholars deserve.

Coming back to St. HOPE feels like a full-circle moment. I am grateful to serve a community that believes deeply in our scholars, and I am excited for the work we will do together to help every scholar thrive and see what is possible for their future.

With gratitude,

Samantha Johnson
Sac High and PS7 Middle School Principal
